Tennis at Dunstable
Whatever time of year it is there is always some sort of competition going on at the club. In the spring you can sign up for the annual club tournaments, there are ten different categories which include, singles, doubles and veteran events. These tournaments last throughout the summer and the finals are played all in one weekend in September which has always proved to be a great success.
During the Winter we hold our internal winter league which is played every other Sunday. This event is great for new members as you play with people that are the same standard as you and it is a great way to meet new people. It lasts for twenty weeks (ten sessions) throughout the winter and it has proved fun for everyone involved.
We also hold various fun tournaments throughout the year which are very enjoyable, these include senior/junior tournament, Christmas fun tournament and the Easter fun tournament.
In addition to these club events we are also entered into various leagues. During the summer we enter many teams into the three different leagues. In the local South Beds League we currently have five mens teams, three ladies teams and four mixed teams. All these teams are spread out in various different divisions so there is a wide range of standards. We also enter a couple of teams into the Beds League. We also have a mens team in the National Club League which also involves singles. We are hoping to enter a ladies team this year.
In the winter other leagues entered are the Townsend Floodlit League and the Vauxhall Indoor League.
SOCIAL
The social side of the tennis club is very good, as you can turn up and play social tennis three times a week: -

At all of these times there is no minimum standard required, the bar in the clubhouse is also open so refreshments are available.
There are also non-tennis events at the club as well which have also proved successful. These include, New Year's Eve party, summer barbeque, safari supper and many more. During the winter a darts tournament is held in the clubhouse.
